Vidhance, a global leader in video enhancement software, is embarking on an exciting project to optimize our Android Open Source Project (AOSP) build process. We currently use local laptops for building AOSP modules, but with the introduction of a powerful local build server, we want to enhance the workflow for our engineers. The goal is to allow engineers to utilize the fast build server seamlessly without having to worry about complex setup procedures or manual file synchronization. This project aims to provide a streamlined and efficient development experience.

Role Outline

We are seeking an ambitious and technically inclined student to take on the challenge of developing a solution that integrates the remote build server with local development environments. This role offers the opportunity to work part-time during the academic year and full-time during the summer. It’s an exceptional chance to gain hands-on experience working with cutting-edge software development infrastructure within a globally recognized tech company.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and implement a system that allows engineers to use a remote build server as if they were building locally.
• Develop solutions for seamless file synchronization and environment setup to minimize friction for developers.
• Collaborate with engineers to understand their workflow needs and ensure a smooth integration of the remote build server.
• Test and refine the solution based on real-world usage and feedback.
• Provide documentation and guidelines for utilizing the new build system.

Who We’re Looking For

• Students currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related fields.
• Solid understanding of software development, Linux environments, and file synchronization techniques.
• Interest in optimizing build systems and improving developer productivity.
• Problem-solving skills, creativity, and a collaborative mindset.
• Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with developers and gather feedback.
